Camera-Ready Submission Instructions

This page contains instructions for authors for submitting camera-ready papers for publication in the proceedings of the IEEE LCN 2010 Conference and its affiliated workshops. If you have any questions related to publications, please contact the IEEE LCN 2010 Publication Chair, Damla Turgut. For questions related to registration, please refer them to the LCN Finance Chair Frank Hübner.

Important Deadlines

    Camera-ready paper due: July 28, 2010
Author registration by: July 28, 2010

In order for your paper to be included in the LCN 2010 conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore® you need to complete these four steps:

  1. Register for the conference with payment and obtain a registration code

  2. Formatting and verification of the IEEE Xplore® compliance via PDFxpress

  3. Upload your paper via EDAS

  4. Submit your copyright form

1. Conference Registration

Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their paper will be presented at the conference. Every paper accepted for LCN 2010 must have an associated registration at the full member or non-member rate. At least one author of each accepted paper must be registered for the conference by the July 28, 2010 author registration deadline in order for that paper to appear in the proceedings and to be scheduled for presentation.

For a paper in which all authors are students, one student author must register at the full registration rate.

For authors presenting multiple papers, one full registration is valid for the first paper, every further paper (up to 2 additional papers) requires an additional fee of US$200 each.

The IEEE reserves the right to exclude or remove a paper from from IEEE Xplore® if the paper is not presented at the conference.

For conference and hotel registration go to the LCN 2010 Conference and Hotel Registration page. When registered, you will receive a registration code in the form XXX-XXX-XXX on your electronic receipt. Please note that you will need this code to upload your paper.

2. Formatting and IEEE Xplore® compliance

Your accepted paper will appear on IEEE Xplore® — the IEEE Digital Library — and it is important that your submitted PDF file meets the specification for IEEE Xplore®. Failing to submit an IEEE Xplore® compatible PDF file may result in the file not being included in the conference proceedings. Please refer to the IEEE document "Simplified Requirements for Creating PDF Files for IEEE Xplore®" for more information.

In order to assure that all submitted PDF files are IEEE Xplore® compliant, it must pass the IEEE PDF eXpress™ check.

We strongly recommend that all final submissions be created using the IEEE PDF eXpress™ service. The IEEE PDF eXpress™ service can convert your paper from a wide range of formats to IEEE Xplore®-compatible PDFs. The service is free of charge for LCN 2010 authors and can be accessed using the following information:

  • Go to the IEEE PDF eXpress™ Login Page
  • Click on the link "New Users - Click Here" and fill in your information. You will need the Conference ID (LCN2010x)

The following information is intended to guide you on formatting your final paper, ensuring your PDF file is IEEE Xplore® compliant.

Page limit

The page limit for regular (full) and workshop papers is 8 pages and that for short (poster) papers is 4 pages. Please note that it is not possible to purchase extra pages.

Templates

Please format your final submission using the guidelines provided in sample_manuscript.pdf. The guidelines are implemented in the following templates:

  • Template for Microsoft Word users is here
  • Template for LaTex users (Unix) is here (use "bare_conf.tex")
  • Template for LaTex users (Windows/Macintosh) is here (use "bare_conf.tex")

Please note that you should prepare the final manuscript with no page numbering.

3. Paper upload

Before uploading your paper, please check that the list of authors, title and abstract in EDAS match your camera-ready paper exactly. This is very important because we will be using the information provided in EDAS to generate the final conference program and the table of contents for IEEE Xplore®. Please note that the abstract and title should be readable stand-alone and not contain any references or unexplained acronyms.

You are allowed to modify title and abstract yourself. You cannot modify the author list for the paper, please send a mail to the TPC chairs if that is necessary and give a valid reason.

All the camera-ready papers will be submitted via EDAS by July 28, 2010. You will need your XXX-XXX-XXX registration code to be able to upload your paper.

4. IEEE Copyright Form

Authors are required to transfer the copyright of their accepted papers to IEEE. This has to be done electronically via EDAS. Log onto EDAS and click on the copyright logo (©) of your accepted LCN paper and follow the instructions.

You will be able to distinguish between regular copyright, US-Government employees and Crown copyright.

Once you finish that process, EDAS will show the type and date of copyright submission on your paper page.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must upload the camera-ready version of your paper and submit the IEEE copyright form no later than July 28, 2010 11:59pm EST. If you fail to comply, the paper will NOT be published in IEEE Xplore.
