The 47th IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN), September 26-29, 2022, hybrid format (hosted in Edmonton, Canada)

Student Mentorship Program

LCN 2022 will host the inaugural Student Mentorship Program to bring together students and senior researchers at LCN. Student mentorship will include a physical event at the venue of the LCN 2022 conference.

For this inaugural activity, the LCN Organizing Committee (OC) plans a physical (in person) meetup on Sunday evening, September 25 (the evening before the conference). The event will include one-to-one and small group discussions in a social setup. The goal of the event is to bring together students and more senior-level researchers.

  • Time of the social event: September 25, 2022, 18:00-19:00 MDT
  • Venue: Aurora Room, Lister Conference Centre at the University of Alberta

Although the focus of the activity is the in-person meetup, LCN aims to accommodate virtual attendees through connecting them virtually. Virtual attendees would be responsible to setup a convenient timeslot and at least one virtual meeting through any tool of choice (e.g., Zoom, Skype).

If you have interest to join the student mentorship as a mentee or a mentor, please fill this short form that to help us with the logistics and matching based on interests. We would be very pleased to have your attendance. We look forward to meeting in person at LCN 2022! Feel free to contact Gurkan Solmaz, if you have any questions.

Note: The information collected through this survey will not be public and it will be only visible for the organizers from the LCN OC. The sole purpose is organizing the student mentorship event, such as matching mentors and mentees based on interests and the logistics of the student mentorship activity. Please note that attendance to the event and filling out this form are fully on a voluntary basis.
