The 49th IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN), October 8-10, 2024, in Caen, Normandy, France

Information for Authors

Authors are invited to submit papers for presentation at the conference, describing original, previously unpublished work, not currently under review by another conference, workshop, or journal. Papers must be submitted electronically to EDAS in PDF format, US-Letter size (not A4), with all fonts embedded (the PDF-A standard meets this requirement). Please format your submission using the IEEE templates found at https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html.

Full papers (no more than eight camera-ready pages excluding bibliography, 10 pt font in IEEE format) should present novel perspectives within the general scope of the conference. A best paper will be recognized based on the quality of research and results, as well as on the quality of presentation by the author.

Short papers are an opportunity to present preliminary or interim results, and are limited to six camera-ready pages excluding bibliography (10pt font in IEEE format). Short papers will be published in the proceedings, as well.

Doctoral papers (up to six camera-ready pages excluding bibliography, 10pt font in IEEE format) provide a supportive setting for Ph.D. students to discuss their problem statement, goals, methods, and results, obtain feedback from established researchers, and establish contacts for entering the job market. The first author for papers in this track must be a Ph.D. student.

LCN 2024 implements a double-blind review process. Double-blind reviews refer to the fact that neither author(s) know the name of the reviewers of their paper nor reviewers know the name(s) of the author(s) of a paper. It is important to note that the program committee chairs know the identity of both reviewers and authors, which allows chairs to identify potential conflict of interests and intervene, if necessary.

Authors must make a good faith effort to anonymize their submissions, and they should not identify themselves either explicitly or by implication. In particular, authors must comply with the following guidelines:

  • Names and affiliations need to be removed from the paper.
  • References to funding and acknowledgments need to be removed.
  • Prior work needs to be referenced as if it was written by a third party. Redactions such as "reference removed for blind review" should be avoided.
  • Identifying names in supplemental material should be removed.

Blinding is not intended to create a great burden. If blinding your paper seems too cumbersome, please contact the program co-chairs and discuss your specific situation.

It is acceptable if authors release their paper in non-peer-reviewed outlets (such as a technical report by their institution or a preprint in arXiv). At the same time, TPC members and other reviewers will be advised not to actively attempt to deanonymize papers.

Paper registration and submission will be through EDAS.
