The 49th IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN), October 8-10, 2024, in Caen, Normandy, France

Student Mentorship Program

LCN 2023 will host its 2nd Annual Student Mentorship Program to bring together students and senior researchers at LCN. Student mentorship will include a physical event at the venue of the LCN 2023 conference.

To kickoff this year's activity, the LCN Organizing Committee (OC) plans a physical (in person) meetup on Sunday evening, October 1 (the evening before the conference). The event will feature a concurrent social gathering, facilitating the opportunity for mentors and mentees to convene, socialize, and engage in productive interactions.

  • Time of the social event: Sunday, October 1, 2023, 16:00-19:00 EDT (lacal time)
  • Venue: The Shores Rseort & Spa (conference venue), Room TBD

To ensure optimal benefits from the mentorship program, it is essential that mentors and mentees establish communication (e.g., setting up a convenient timeslot for a virtual meeting through any tool of choice, such as Zoom, Skype, etc.) prior to the conference. This proactive virtual connection is particularly valuable in cases where individuals are unable to attend the social event due to late arrival or other unforeseen circumstances.

If you are interested in joining the student mentorship program as a mentee or a mentor, please kindly complete this short form no later than September 8, to assist us with logistics and facilitate effective matching based on interests. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to meeting in person at LCN 2023! Feel free to contact the Student Mentorship Chair if you have any questions.

Note: The information collected through this survey will remain confidential and accessible solely to the organizers from the LCN committee. Its sole purpose is to facilitate the organization of the student mentorship event, including the matching of mentors and mentees based on interests and managing the logistics of the activity. Please be aware that attendance to the event and the completion of this form are entirely voluntary.
